1920’s Evening Dresses

To be properly gowned from morning until night is the objective of every truly smart girl, be she schoolgirl, business girl, or the woman who carries on, between her own four walls, the important business of running a home. It is her objective because she has come to appreciate the tremendous importance of the eternal fitness of things in this matter of dress. Surely no one can deny that the properly dressed schoolgirl studies with greater concentration; that the appropriately dressed business woman works with keener attention to details; and that the correctly clad woman at home administers her affairs more easily and is herself happier when suitably and becomingly dressed than would be possible if she were merely clothed.

This theory is just plain, every-day common sense, for we happen to be made in such. a way that our minds can concentrate on only one thing at a time, and that thing is pretty apt to be our own appearance if there is anything wrong with it. On the other hand, if the dress is right in style and correct for the occasion, the mind is at ease, the nerves relax, and the charmingly natural person who results, can forget herself and go about her affairs with perfect poise.

Evening is the time for breaking away somewhat from the restraint of the day. Gowns are made sleeveless for freedom of movement as well as for picturesque effect. The decolletage is low for the same reasons, and the love of color is given free reign.

Materials for evening wear were never lovelier or more flattering than at present. In fact, the fabrics are so lovely that little or no decoration is used. First and newest of all, is the closely swathed Gypsy girdle that has recurred periodically since the days of Cleopatra. Placed low on the hips, it ties in a great bow with floating ends, which is itself a very new note in decoration. It is, in fact, giving serious competition to the flowers that have long bloomed on hips and shoulders. Nor should one overlook the smart flare of the skirt.

This model could be developed beautifully in Georgette, crepe Elizabeth, crepe de Chine, crepe satin, metal cloth, or even lace, with girdle and bow of velvet. Or, since this is a velvet season, make the dress of velvet, and the girdle of metallic cloth or ribbon.

The same foundation pattern used for the afternoon dress type will serve for this also, by cutting the modish V-front, round-back neck line, omitting the sleeves, and inserting circular godets in the side seams. These are shaped like pieces of pie, about 32 inches wide at the widest point and 20 to 24 inches deep. Insert these with plain seams and allow the dress to hang a few days so that it may stretch. Then measure it off evenly, and bind or face it, using the same finish for the neck and sleeves.

Mary Brooks Picken created a revolution in 1924 when she developed a method of making a fashionable 1920’s dress in only one hour. To prove the doubters wrong she organized public demonstrations of the method all over the country.

Are You Addicted To Google Adsense?

Some Google Adsense publishers have let this simple form of making money online take over their lives. 100’s of hours are spent by these people Split test Adsense, changing and manipulating, all in the hope of making enough money to tell the boss “I’m leaving”.

54% of all Google Adsense publishers admit addiction to click income. A recent online study conducted by a small group of Google Publishers found that 54% of all Adsense publishers where addicted to the income potential of Googles Pay Per Click system.

Some Google Adsense Publishers Need Therapy
It was also found that some publishers were so addicted they where checking their Adsense statistics up to 50 times per day.

Google Adsense is a system where individuals who own content rich website’s can earn money by placing small targeted ads within the content of their website.

The ads can be customised to fit within the scheme of the website and some successful publishers can earn in excess of $200,000 per month.

One publisher stated that her addiction started the day she placed the Adsense code into her html code. “I was introduced to Adsense by my boyfriend, who makes around a $1000 a month”. She went on to say that she doesn’t blame Google for her addiction, but the fever in which forums and blogs promote the fact that anyone can become rich with this scheme inspired her to keep adding pages and checking her stats.

Kate, did state that she was earning a reasonable amount of money from Google Adsense, but told us she also spent a considerable amount of money on scripts, ebooks and promises of gaining all you would ever want to know about Adsense, from forum gurus claiming they had made their fortunes and where willing to share their secrets if you deposited $97 into their PayPal account.

Rags to Riches in 51 Days
Another publisher I spoke to told me his addiction had made him a rich man in 51 days. “I was browsing the net on October the 15th last year and came across a website that had a photo of a guy holding a Google cheque for nearly $200,000 dollars. Under the picture it stated that this was just a 1 month pay check from Google. Lights and bells went off in my head as I thought, Man, this is what I have been looking for”.

David, had been dabbling in online money making schemes for about 6 years and to date had not been very successful. But he did have 3 website’s which had 1000’s of visitors to them and after reading all he could on the subject, David placed 2 small Adsense ads on each page of his 1000 page website. “I didn’t sleep that night. I was so excited, I checked my stats every 10 minutes all night” he said. Just when he was about to give up for the night, David did his final stats check. “It was 5.50am exactly and I nearly fell off my chair. 1000 impressions, 98 clicks and a total of $18 income. I couldn’t sleep that day as I checked my stats every 15 minutes and watched the income rose to over $58 for the day. I was addicted to this thing, this scheme was going to make me rich and I wasn’t going to miss a minute of it” David said.

David had gone from $32 in his Bank account to over $6,700 in just 51 days. He had checked his stats on average 60 times per day and had spent more than 612 hours during that 51 days optimising his sites and adding content. David also admitted just like Kate that he had spent quite a bit of his profits on “how to” books, but stated that it was money very well spent.

“I am addicted to Google Adsense” Kate told me, ” but what better addiction could you have than earning money, while doing something you love”.

What Is Cancer Real Survival Rate?

If you talk about the circumstances and conditions about the cancer you may come to conclusions that cancer is curable and I agree on this point because cancers can be preventable and if in any case the cancer is diagnosis then it can be curable. But it depends on the stages of cancer. Most of the time, the cancers are divided into four to five stages starting from stage zero to stage five.

The stages lie between zero to three are curable but stages from four to five which are considered as the late stages are not treatable.

The stage zeros is totally curable because it is the initial stage where the growth of the cancer tumors had began and it has not make the strong roots in the cells, and this can be seen in pancreas cancer treatment when it happens at the same level. That is why the surgeries and radiation and laser therapies can cure them. Even the medicines and vitamins can help to cure it.. The stage second and stage thirds are also curable from sixty to eighty percent because in these stages still the tumors are growing and they had not moved towards the other body organs. So what is cancer real surviva rate after this stages?

The tumor is within the range of single organ that has cancer/ here again the surgical and radiation therapies can remove the cancers. But the fourth and fifth stages of cancers are not curable and chances of death ratios are about eighty to ninety nine percent. In the later stages of cancers, the tumors have grown enough to reach the other body organ that is why it becomes unable to control the expanding roots and finally the infected area gets expired and chances of survivals finishes and not even chemotherapy treatment can really make a difference for patients.

It is really fruitful to get diagnosis of the cancer at right time because if you caught the cancer at early stage then doctors can guarantee you the life but if it is not then you have no chances of survival.

A well designed and properly executed website design can be a real boon to your business, but a poorly designed website could actually be costing you money. If your website appears amateurish or hastily thrown together potential customers may take one look before going elsewhere to get what they need. That is why it is so critical for business owners to use the same care and consideration they put into other facets of the business when designing a website.

No matter what your line of business may be, a professionally designed and well polished website is an integral part of the success of your firm. Your website should not be an afterthought – if it is that will show in the look and feel of the site.

It is vital that the website you create project a professional image, and that the site incorporate a consistent design throughout all the pages. One of the biggest mistakes newcomers to the web make is not using the same look and feel for all pages on the site. In some cases the pages look so different that visitors may think they have left the site altogether. If you want your customers to stay around long enough to purchase your products you will need to provide them with a consistent and pleasing web browsing experience.

When laying out your initial website design it may be helpful to think about what you like – and what you do not like – in the websites you visit. If you are turned off by flashing banner ads and annoying sounds chances are your customers will be as well. If you are attracted to clean designs and sites that are easy to navigate chances are your potential buyers will be too. Thinking about what makes a good website can help you design a website that gets real results.

No matter how well designed your website may be it is always a good idea to look at the site through the eyes of a customer. This can be hard to do, especially if you have designed the site from the ground up. If you had a hand in building and designing the site it can be hard to spot its flaws and make the necessary adjustments, so you may want to have an independent observer take a look at the site and give you some feedback. This type of honest feedback can be invaluable when you are building your site, since it helps you see your design through the eyes of those who have never visited your company’s website before.

Introduction

Mention the word demolition to almost anyone and the picture that instantly comes to mind is a vision of a building being blown up and collapsing to the ground. Many people have stated that they would love to push the button, to detonate the explosive devices which bring a disused building to the ground. In many cases what comes down, must go up and we are seeing many dilapidated buildings being demolished to make way for future development, often as part of a regeneration project.

For companies who over many years have built their business around the demolition of buildings, the demolition sector is now far more reaching than just demolishing old buildings. Once the building is demolished the huge task of site clearance begins and in a world where consideration of the environmental impacts are high on most peoples agenda, the material residues from demolition need to be separated for recycling purposes. This will include such materials as steel, wood, plastic, brickwork and concrete.

Most of the materials can be bulked up and transported to the appropriate recycling plants for reprocessing. Materials such as bricks and concrete can be crushed and turned into a recycled concrete aggregate product ready for reuse in the construction of new roads or buildings. Increasingly though, through advances in technological development, residues such as concrete to be recycled have to meet a very high specification for reuse in construction projects.

Crushed into different sizes of recycled aggregate will determine the future usage potential of the product. Large sizes could be used as decorative rockery products in gardening whilst much finer, almost shingle like product can be used as a bedding for pipe laying or as a layer in road construction. With an increasing number of opportunities identified for the reuse of recycled aggregate, the entire demolition and construction industry is making a significant contribution to sustainable development.

Reasons Behind the Increased Focus on Recycling from Construction and Demolition Projects

In 1996, UK Government imposed a tax on all wastes going to landfill. The tax is paid on top of normal gate fees for waste being disposed in landfill and since its introduction the cost has increased on an annual basis. When first introduced, the standard rate of tax for general wastes going to landfill was £7 per tonne and £2 per tonne for inert materials. The tax is designed to encourage commercial and industrial businesses and local authorities collecting from households, to divert waste away from landfill for recycling. In April 2009, the standard rate of landfill tax increased to £40 per tonne and is scheduled to increase each year by £8 per tonne until 2013. The lower rate of tax charged upon any inert materials going to landfill such as concrete and soils, has remained relatively steady in recent years and is currently at £2.50 per tonne.

However, the weight factor alone of a bulk load of these inert materials going directly to landfill will ensure that the entire cost of disposal becomes very expensive and so even in the demolition and construction sector, diverting waste from landfill is a priority.

Advances in crushing machinery technology now enables the production of 20-5mm recycled crushed stone which is perfect for a variety of uses due to its good drainage qualities.

Next time you see a demolition project in progress or pass any construction site during a build programme, it is clear to see the volume of waste being generated. If waste is not in skips, piles of rubble will be stacked high. The placing of concrete waste in skips has been a major problem for waste contractors for many years. Having worked in the waste industry, I have seen skip lorries tipped backwards with the cab of the vehicle up in the air, due to the sheer overloading of waste skips with construction site waste.

Each year, the UK generates around 330 million tonnes of waste and it is estimated that around 90 million tonnes of this is from construction and demolition wastes. This figure has remained fairly constant since 2001. Around two thirds of this waste is usually recycled or reused in land reclamation or agricultural improvement projects. Since the late 1990s there has been a steady rise in the volumes of construction waste being recycled and this has been helped with advances in technology which have led to improved crushing technology to create more widespread use of different grades of recycled aggregates. There has been a real focus upon the UK construction industry to encourage greater recycling of waste on site.

In recent years, the construction industry as a whole has worked hard to encourage construction site managers to place a greater emphasis upon recycling on site. This has led to an increase in the recycling of all inert materials from site.

Prior to the introduction of the landfill tax all construction site waste including bricks and concrete would be bulked up and transferred to a landfill site for disposal. No consideration was given to recycling. There are now stringent regulations across the sector, coupled with an increase in environmental awareness, as well as the commercial benefits in ensuring that this type of waste is now recycled. There is also greater recognition of the vast array of opportunities to re-use recycled aggregates within the construction process on alternative construction projects or in areas such as landscaping or home and garden DIY. Following the demolition process, together the waste concrete, bricks, masonry etc will be transformed into a recycled concrete aggregate. Recycling of aggregates has become a common process for demolition contractors.

To recycle concrete aggregate to a high standard and resalable product, it must be entirely free of other contaminants such as wood, paper, card, steel and other general waste materials. The final product must also conform to the requirements of British Standard BS 8500. The process of recycling the concrete can usually be achieved in one of two ways. Some demolition contractors will locate a crushing machine on the demolition site, whereas some contractors will prefer to transport the waste to be recycled, back to their own premises for sorting for recycling or re-use. On projects where demolition and new construction is to take place at the same location, the contractor is very likely to locate a crushing machine on site to avoid incurring additional transportation costs in taking the material back to a sorting and crushing facility.

Many well established demolition contractors have had to extend their services to include site clearance services.

The Increasing Demand for High Quality Recycled Aggregate

Before commencing the crushing process, it must be determined what the end product is to be used for to ensure that the recycled aggregate is to meet the required standards. There is huge requirement for recycled concrete aggregate to be used back in the construction process. As a product, recycled aggregate can be used for almost any type of concrete structural work, road surfacing or pipe laying project. Having passed through the crusher the chunks of aggregate will be sorted by size. Bigger pieces may be retained as a decorative product for use in garden rockery projects, or they may be passed back through the crusher to be pummeled to a smaller size. The smaller pieces of recycled aggregate may be suitable for use as a gravel on new construction projects, road laying or driveways at home. The crushing machines are now capable of achieving good quality small aggregate grades such as the production of a 20-5mm gravel which can be bagged and used in the garden at home or bought in bulk as part of projects involving new concrete production. The advances in technology mean that the recycling of aggregates for other uses such as a simple gravel product or for use in concrete products has greatly reduced the need to dig quarries to mine for gravel. Recycled aggregates have become a versatile reusable product and has eliminated the need for large volumes of a good material to be disposed of in landfill and therefore offer significant environmental benefits.

The demand for high quality crushed aggregate is increasing. There are key standards in place which are focused upon improving the recycled aggregate industry. Through research and development, more widespread uses are being identified for the use of recycled aggregate. No longer is concrete, just concrete. What we are talking about now are many different grades of recycled aggregate, ranging from the large chunks of aggregate to very specific 6f2 recycled concrete which can be used as a sub-base material for construction jobs, or 20-5mm recycled aggregate, which is a gravel and can be used in road construction or at home on driveways. As well as being used as a mix for road construction, recycled aggregate is being used as bedding for pipe laying or foundation material prior to construction projects commencing. In achieving such good quality grades the 20-5mm recycled aggregate can be used as an aggregate base in road construction and the quality meets the standards required to allow its reuse in concrete production.

One of the important criteria when using recycled aggregate is selecting the right specification for the task. For example, when using 20-5mm coarse graded aggregate as a road base, the thickness of the layer required must be determined to withstand traffic flows. Traffic flow on a motorway will be significantly different to that of a country road. One reason aggregate produced to a 20-5mm specification is used as a road base is that it aids good drainage. Once the recycled aggregate is laid, appropriate layers of asphalt or concrete can be laid over it to create the road surface.

In recent years, in the UK we seem to have more rain than sunshine and therefore the selected aggregate must be able to withstand variances in temperature and conditions e.g. dampness for long periods, torrential downpours, long dry spells. With its good drainage qualities, the recycled 20-5mm product is the perfect choice for many sand and gravel applications including, pipe bedding, driveways and footpaths, landscaping, plus for use in ready mixed and precast concrete products. With its drainage qualities, 20-5mm recycled aggregate is a versatile product.

Following demolition, contractors will use crushing machinery to produce recycled concrete aggregates from the waste bricks and concrete for use in future construction processes.

Recycled Aggregates and the 2012 Olympics

In its bid for the 2012 Olympic Games, London placed sustainability as the focal point of its bid. The bid team identified a major opportunity to increase awareness of climate change and the issues which surround it, and bring it to the World’s attention. With the eyes of the World watching, the Olympic Games present a unique opportunity to communicate key messages about sustainability. Throughout the entire development of the Olympic project, there is a commitment to make 2012 the most sustainable Olympic Games ever held. This focus began when planning the development and build programmes for the facilities and venues, the transport links and network, the hosting of the Games themselves and will end by leaving a long lasting legacy of a sustainable environment.

Since London was awarded the Games, all suppliers involved in the development requirements, from the construction of the Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Village and transport links to the venues have been focused upon ensuring the use wherever possible of sustainable materials. Across the entire Olympic build programme construction managers have worked hard to identify suitable sustainable materials for use in the build programme. At the end of the overall project there will be some clearly visible examples of the use of sustainable products.

qually there will be many more much less visible and furthermore, many which will be not visible at all. One of those products which visitors to the games and its many venues will not even think about will be how recycled aggregates have been specified as part of the overall construction project. But developers and specifiers of materials for use in the build programme will be comfortable in the knowledge that they have selected sustainable products including, the most appropriate recycled concrete aggregates as part of the project. With its identified qualities, let’s hope that somewhere in the world wide TV coverage the 20-5mm recycled aggregate gets a mention somewhere, somehow. Imagine being asked to supply recycled aggregate which meets a very specific 20-5mm clean material specification, to help build the 2012 Olympic Village.

Conclusion

How times have changed in recent years for the demolition and construction industry. Companies have had to adapt to meet challenging environmental requirements. As with almost any industry, new regulations and legislation dictate the standards to which your business must aspire, if it is to be successful.

Businesses involved in the production of recycled concrete aggregate are no different. These are classed as processed materials and must conform to a particular product specification which can be used in the construction process. The standard BS8500-2 offers a full specification for the uses of recycled concrete aggregates in concrete, although with such a vast range of recycled aggregates an all encompassing specification for the use of these aggregates is yet to be determined. The most important thing is that the industry does not stand still and wait for the specifications to be finalised. The versatility of recycled aggregates means that demolition contractors operating crushing plants are seeking to identify markets through which to sell their recycled products. The advances in crusher technology and machinery has seen a big increase in the options now available in supplying large chunks of recycled aggregate for landscape gardening use in rockeries, down to a gravel type 20-5mm recycled aggregate with its good drainage qualities for use in road construction and driveways. The demolition and construction industry now places sustainability at the forefront of its future development projects.

So do you want a chest like Superman? Building muscle mass is the key to getting that great body you’ve always dreamed of. Don’t worry if you’ve always been the skinny boy in your class – if you have the determination, fortitude and discipline, you also can build chest muscles like that of a superhero.

For those of you who have already started training, you will have to raise your calorie intake daily. You need to consume 3,000 up to 6,000 calories a day – yes, that is a huge amount of calories but your goal is to gain as much weight fast so you can convert this into huge, bulky muscles when you hit the gym. Do not use this as an excuse to pig out on junk food and chocolate cakes everyday of the week. Your diet should comprise of protein rich and low fat sources of food like chicken, lean meat and seafood.

For those looking to building muscle mass, the calories of their nutritional plan must have a ratio of about 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 20% fat. It would be helpful to learn that a gram of fat is equal to nine calories while one gram of protein and carbohydrates are both equivalent to four calories. You have a small window of excess calorie indulgence to have so use it well.

Once you’ve gotten your diet down, it’s time to concentrate on getting the most from your chest program. Begin with good stretching and moderate warm up to increase your body’s over-all temperature and improve your session for the day. You will also notice that swimmers possess a wide and well-defined chest area so add swimming into your chest training as often as you can.

One program you can employ if you are beginning is doing 12 reps and three sets of bench press using 40 lbs weight load, dumbbell flyes and dumbbell pullover using 10 and 20 lb weight loads respectively. After several weeks, include 30 lbs of inclined bench press as well as 20 lbs of declined bench press of 3 sets of 12 reps. Monitor the progress of your physical strength and personal endurance because you will need to lift higher weight loads steadily while lowering your present reps per set if your aim is to bulk up the chest muscles.

Keep in mind that as with any workout program, change the weight load and exercises every three or four weeks so that your body will keep on challenging itself to perform its best. Hitting your chest area with diverse angles is good training so you should incorporate flat, incline and decline movements into your exercise regimen. Flyes isolate the pecs more than most exercises so ensure that you go back to this when you plan to alter your drills periodically.

Even if your goal is to build chest muscles, take care that you don’t excessively over train and neglect the other muscle groups. History has never had a superhero with a barrel chest atop bony legs so far as I am aware. It will do you well to set aside two to three days out of your workout schedule to work on the other parts of your body.

Focus on building muscle mass, eat the right kinds of food and perform the exercises in the correct form – you will soon find yourself with a strong chest so wide you have to enter doors sideways. And last but not the least, don’t forget to have fun while you’re at it – working out is always a rewarding experience for the brave and sturdy few who stay the course. Work hard and see the results before you know it.

Keep The Home Warm Through The Winter Season

You do not want living rooms to contain any leaks to let water enter as this could cause damage to your possessions. Damage may be caused to any improvement you undertake or the health of the people in the room because of the leak. Individuals have to make sure that they use whatever space they can in the best way available as land value is increasing rapidly. Basements are available for many different things just like any of the other space in the home. Because they have become more than hidden storage areas, for them to be turned into a trendy and remodeled living room or possibly a toy space for the children has become more common.

Homeowners and basement specialists and water-sealing experts usually have their own ideas about how a basement room can be utilized. New homes being constructed have already used this available space so these homeowners used the opportunity to renovate older properties. A home that can be changed in ways to accommodate many different things is what younger buyers are ready to buy, the ideas and thoughts on how to transform the basement show this.

You need to know how to proceed correctly so that it may be accomplished right from the start. When you decide to make your underground room into a new living area the idea is to begin with a good base stone. The base wall must be free of any cracks or crevices as they give water the opportunity to find its way into the underground spaces.

Keep in mind that this room is ordinarily damp and this elevated amount of humidity causes issues. Cement, if not sealed correctly is absorbent, making it easy to have a damp basement. You might be able to reduce the amount of cash you may have to spend by watching the water supply lines closely for any leaks to give you a better chance of catching them quickly.

Keep your family warm with electric fireplaces. There is a large variety including electric fireplaces with media storage. Of course you will want to see the newest electric fireplace reviews.

Experience tells us that where the home is located can also contribute to constant dampness and there are times when this damp is a result of a neighbor with leaks in their water pipes or drains. Thoroseal can trap water inside the bricks so it is damaging to use it in an underground space. The problem worsens when the Thoroseal and the existing bricks are removed from the home but it is possible to transform your damp basement if you are aware of the problems before you start. You should seek a complete report from a professional before going further since the job will be for nothing if you use the wrong water sealing technique.
