Top 5 Ways to Stay Motivated to Lose Weight

When losing weight, it’s extremely important that you maintain a high level of motivation. There are so many temptations that can hinder your weight loss efforts, so you have to keep your goals in front of you constantly. Here are three great ways you can do that.

1. Avoid negative influence. When I was a teenager, my extended family was all overweight. So when I would try to lose weight, they would often make well-meaning comments like “you’re getting too skinny” or “you need to eat more.” The more you can avoid people who don’t see your weight loss goals as being positive, the better.

2. Seek positive influence. While negative influence can certainly hinder your progress, positive influence can have the opposite effect. So seek out friends and relatives who are working toward the same goals you are and spend as much time with them as you can. Swap ideas and success stories, too. If you don’t have any friends or relatives, join a weight loss program such as Weight Watchers that encourages interaction with other people trying to lose weight.

3. “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.” I learned that at Weight Watchers, and can personally vouch for the truthfulness of those words. Whenever you’re confronted with an opportunity to go overboard, or eat something you shouldn’t, repeat those words to yourself. Imagine yourself being thin and fit if you pass on that piece of pie or that ice cream and cookies. Suddenly they won’t look so appealing.

Taking the above actions is a great way to keep your motivation strong, and motivation is a definite requirement when trying to lose weight.

Applying For Medicare

With all of the changes that Medicare goes undergoes, you might become frustrated or confused as you try to comprehend what’s required of you to apply, and what exactly Medicare will cover. Medicare has a few easy guidelines that are important to know as you submit your application.

These requirements encompass the following : you or your spouse are required to have at least ten years of continuous employment at a job which provided Medicare coverage, you must be a citizen of the US, and you must be at least 65 years of age. If you are victim of a disability or a chronic disease, you may also be eligible for Medicare. While Medicare does not come with any monetary requirements, you are required to substantiate your medical need before you can qualify for particular services under your Medicare coverage.

There are two divisions to medicare : Part A covers ‘hospital’ insurance, and will assist you with any medical help that you experience at a nursing facility, during hospice care, at a hospital, or at home. Part B coverage is ‘medical’ in nature, and is used to recompense doctors, care for outpatient operations, and additional medical services related to these things.

With this simple knowledge of Medicare and the general requirements that you must meet, you should also understand the application process. You might already have Medicare enrollment prior to the age of 65, if you are now receiving Social Security or Railroad Retirement. If you are disabled somehow, you may also be automatically enrolled when the 35th month of your disability begins.

A majority of people are mandated to apply for Medicare benefits for themselves, however. This period for enrollment starts three months before your 65th birthday, and spans seven months into your 65th year. With an early application submission, your Medicare coverage may commence without suffering any delays. To begin the application steps, find and communicate with your local Social Security Administration. If your spouse or yourself were employed by the railroad system, you’ll need to call the Railroad Retirement Board. Additionally, if you do not register during the initial ten month window, you will have to wait until the January of next year.

The assessment of a dredging projects soil conditions are the most important factor to determine dredgeability, the choice of suitable equipment, production rates and ultimately the associated costs for the works.

A prudent tenderer when analysing the site data needs to be assured that the data has been collected and prepared by a competent soil investigation company in accordance with relevant international standards such as BS, ASTM or others.

Rather than rely on the basic adverse physical conditions clause in the case of significant capital works involving excavation of varying subsoil, weathered or solid rock it is suggested to apply reference conditions in the Contract based on the actual information from the soil survey transposed into production rates which can be easily measured and reviewed, beyond which the Contractor is entitled to claim for additional compensation.
Of the contracts available for use on dredging contracts only the FIDIC 1999 Red Book and the UK’s NEC 3 Engineering and Construction Contract deal with the broad concept of reference conditions.

The concept of how adverse physical conditions are dealt with verges on the holy grail of marine infrastructure projects. On the one side they are part of a Marine Contractors ‘must have’ clauses whilst it is often viewed by Clients as the equivalent of a ‘get out of jail free’ card. The balance of risk has been hotly debated and fought over the years with the results little published or revealed due to disputes being resolved in arbitration or adjudication.

Added to this mix are the notion of unforeseeability and what an experienced contractor can expect its no wonder that the vast majority of marine infrastructure claims revolve around the issue of sub-surface conditions.

Even a full-scale and technically perfect soil investigation can only test a fraction of the volume that is to be dredged by the Contractor. Combined with the fact that natural conditions like rock strength, grain size, permeability, plasticity, presence of rock outcrops or boulders (to name a few) vary enormously, it is no wonder disputes on dredging contracts often focus on soil conditions that are claimed to be different from what “an experienced Contractor could reasonably have foreseen” .

The basic principle of adverse physical conditions this that a contract clause will give the Contractor the “right to claim for additional time and money in case unforeseeable physical conditions which may occur, which were not reasonably foreseeable by an experienced contractor”. This simple principle is present in one way or the other in virtually every dredging contract.

A dual purpose lies hidden behind this contract principle, namely to :

  • Compensate the Contractor for encountering conditions more severe than could be derived from investigations available at the time of preparing his offer. Employers must not and should not expect the Contractor to gamble: Taking a risk provision covering for every imaginable situation would make an offer non-competitive, whereas the absence of a risk provision is a denial of the fact that dredging has significant uncertainties by its very nature. Employers tend to be overly biased towards achieving the lowest contract price for their work by passing all conceivable risk to the Contractor whether he is in a position to dealt with it or not.
  • Protect the Employer from Contractors who may try to claim additional compensation for interpretation or calculation errors mistakes made by the Contractor and resulting in a loss on the project. A loss in itself is no justification for additional compensation, and furthermore the Employer has very limited possibilities to assess the factual cause of the loss.

In between the relative simplicity of the two extremes lies a gray area, and it is here that disputes are generally fought out. The author supports the view that a sufficiently high threshold for additional compensation should be present, balancing the interest of the Employer (by not having to battle over every minor issue) and of the Contractor (by having capped his risk and defined additional compensation above threshold). It is further suggested that a risk matrix framework could be established to assess the magnitude of the additional compensation before award of the contract.

It sounds a somewhat frightening, but everything you do on your computer is recorded on it. Every key stroke you make is registered. Your pc records every time you visit an internet site. It notes every picture you look at. When you create an email, or read one that’s sent to you, it is recorded. If you open a document, it is saved.

Erase Browser history, emptying your trash can, and erasing your browser cookies won’t do away with them; these data and the files are there, still, and it’s possible to recover them very quickly. Your employer, your spouse, your children, or anyone else who wants to can retrieve those files and read them unless you do what is necessary to totally delete them for good.

What do you have to do to hide your activities and be sure that your personal information, especially sensitive material, is not read by an individual who gains access to your computing device? It is very simple, as a matter of fact. You just need to rewrite over the space that was vacated when the files were erased.

There are many people who have no idea that a erased file is not obliterated from your computer. It invisibly waits on your system until new data is written over it. There are software programs by the hundreds out there that can find information…from e-mail and documents to web site browsing history, and they can do it quickly.

To make sure that Privacy Controls is unable to retrieve anything from your pc, you must be confident you have left nothing on your computer that can be recovered. In other words, fresh information must be stored in place of the deleted data on your hard drive.

This may seem hard to do, and doing it without help may indeed be difficult. Luckily, there are numerous software applications of high quality that are presently on the market and can perform this process for you. The data retrieval computer software will:

* Erase data for good and write over information acquired from World Wide Web browsers, for example, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc. The internet site cache, web visitation history, temporary files from email downloads, and cookies (passwords and login ID’s, as well), are included in the info that is removed and written over. * Erase any vestige of P2P (peer-to-peer) file sharing functions.

* Remove information in the recycle bin for good, and overwrite it. Included are items you don’t want other individuals to see, such as, photographs, documents, and miscellaneous files. * Delete and clean the hard drive of all traces of information from VOIP (voice-over-internet-protocol) and instant messaging (IM) software.

* Erase unwanted email files for good from popular email providers, for example, Outlook Express, Outlook, Eudora, etc.

Before you buy one of these software packages, make sure that the communications protocols it uses are the most recent version of military and government deletion communications protocols, that 24-7 technical support is available, that it is vouched to work or your money back, and that web sites like Tucows or CNET have dependable review articles of this software system.

In conclusion, if you have grown troubled about somebody accessing your personal data and seeing potentially damaging material on your personal computer, you may want to consider using this Internet history erasing software to protect your privacy. It will be reassuring to be certain that your Internet searches are your business only and no one else’s.

How can you get started with your bankruptcy filing? If you want to declare yourself bankrupt you have to start the process by submitting the official bankruptcy forms. You need to learn the several ways on how to declare bankruptcy. Your objective is to get the most affordable bankruptcy solution and save on legal fees. This article will give you an introduction to the various ways of declaring bankruptcy.

The Safest Method

This is the most dependable and safest means to declare personal bankruptcy — employ a bankruptcy lawyer full-time. The attorney will guide you through the whole procedure. It is the lawyer’s job to assess, prepare and file your petition. During the creditors meeting your attorney will handle all the thorny issues that may arise. The only disadvantage in choosing this procedure is that it costs more. You must find a means on how to screen lawyers the right way for you to get the best workable deal if you want to use this procedure.

The Hybrid Method

This procedure is the most adopted technique in declaring bankruptcy. The hybrid method usually works best in filing Ch 7. The key component here is to employ the services of an attorney or law firm to prepare your bankruptcy papers. You need to pay the service provider with a fixed fee. Once they file your documents you are on your own. You can save on legal fees because half of the solution is a do-it-yourself work. You should look for a bankruptcy preparation service that will also give you a mini seminar on how to tackle the do-it-yourself portion as part of the deal.

The Cheapest Method

This procedure is a full self-help solution or “pro se” filing. You need to teach yourself with the complexity of the bankruptcy laws. You can download the free bankruptcy forms for Chapter 13 or Ch 7 but it is usually easier to do this method if you purchase an up-to-date bankruptcy book or a bankruptcy kit. If you try to ask guidance from your local court clerks they will say they can’t help you. They will not give you advice on how to fill out the forms because that would be “practicing the law” — a task reserved only for licensed bankruptcy attorneys.

What to Do Next?

Now that you know the different methods of filing bankruptcy, which technique are you going to select? The new bankruptcy law does not require you to have a lawyer, but it is in your best interest to seek the advice of an experienced bankruptcy lawyer. Learning About Web Site Hosting Types

There are different types of web site hosting. These include shared or virtual hosting, dedicated hosting, co-location hosting, and virtual dedicated server (VDS) or virtual private server (VPS). Shared or virtual hosting comes in two forms namely free shared hosting and paid shared hosting.

Free shared hosting is preferred if you want to have a personal web site or a non-profit web site since hosting service is free. Those who are just starting out their online business also use this type of shared or virtual hosting.

On the other hand, paid shared hosting is usually for small businesses as well as large professional sites. These web sites usually need a lot of space and bandwidth. Thus, most paid shared hosting providers offer such services.

Dedicated hosting is another type of hosting preferred by businesses that need storage, bandwidth, and efficient server administration. Consequently, dedicated hosting has a sub-type referred to as co-location. It is specially built for your personal hosting needs. It fulfills your tasks and is designed for your web site alone. However, this type of hosting is quite expensive as compared to other types of hosting.

Finally, virtual dedicated server (VDS) or virtual private server (VPS) is a type of web site hosting that is based on segregating a physical server into several virtual servers. It is less expensive than other hosting types but provides the same services as that of dedicated hosting.

Once you have discerned the best web hosting type suits your needs, it is much easier to choose according to type rather than choosing from a wide range of hosting services.

Confident Golf – Can It Come In a Box?

I often write about sport psychology and “mental golf”, but usually more about how to change your game by changing the way you control your thinking, emotions,or patterns. Today is different.

Can you buy confidence in your golf game … in a box?

Think about one of your best golfing day ever — remember how the feeling of confidence flowed through your veins? Your steps felt a little quicker? Your swings a little surer? You may have even upped your bets or engaged in a little more trash talk than usual. Confidence has a specific feeling, doesn’t it?

We have probably all felt the excitement of pulling a “magic club” out of our bag — the one we felt we could do no wrong with … our “go to”club. And we all have also probably spent too much money trying to find a whole BAG FULL of magic clubs so that we could feel that same rush of confidence … all the time.

So there is no question that improved golf technology can help give us more confidence. But can it be as easy as pushing a button? Maybe.

Looking at the habits of golf professionals can give us a clue. Of course, the top players all have caddies who help them meticulously map out each course several days before official competition. By the time Thursday rolls around, they know eactly where they want to be on each hole, where to lay up, and which club to use for the best approach shots.

While they can’t eliminate ALL the variables, such as changing weather conditions or poor shot recovery, they do want to make the game as simple — and as automatic — as possible once competition rolls around.

How often do YOU feel that way when you play on a new course? Or maybe even on your home course? Does the confidence flow easily? Have you eliminated most of the variables?

Of course, most of us don’t have a full-time, confidence-inspiring caddy tucked in our hip  pocket. But we COULD have the “next  best thing.”

A new breed of rangefinders has recently emerged which are almost “mini-caddies” — and they are great confidence-builders for many golfers.

Frankly, I thought the earlier generation of range finders was overpriced and not very easy to use. Cables to find and connect. Software and updates to download. Expensive monthly and yearly subscriptions to maintain. Courses that weren’t mapped. If you’ve looked at them already, you probably know what I mean.

Some of the latest golf GPS range finders don’t suffer from these drawbacks. They are true GPS powered units, and you literally take them out of the box, turn them on, and start playing with caddie-like knowledge on your course of choice. Push button simple.

A caddie in a box.

My current favorite golf GPS rangefinders are the Golf Buddy Pro GPS and the Golf Buddy Tour GPS rangefinders. Both are competitively priced, and work on over 20,000 golf courses as soon as you take them out of the box and turn them on.

My favorite feature is the “dynamic angle adjustment,” which changes the angle of the green displayed to match your current position on the course. This simple dynamic orienting feature makes your Golf Buddy-inspired mental map of the course seem much more real.

The major difference between the two models is a color screen display on the slighly upscale Golf Buddy Tour GPS model — and there are no course downloads or annual fees. Much appreciated, Golf Buddy!

Besides the push-button simplicity, both units really are confidence-inspiring, just like a caddie. There is a definite difference in your confidence level when you know the exact distance to greens, bunkers, lakes, lay-up points and hazards — even on your home course. And especially when you are pushing your comfort level on a tough new course, with unfamiliar partners.

I was surprised to find I was routinely making some 5-10 yard miscalculations (even on my home course) in certain situations by merely pacing off distances and estimating, which we all do. When each one of those mistakes equals an additional stroke on your card, the value of this “mini-caddie” adds up quickly.

Information is power, and in this case I would also add that ACCURATE golf information gives confidence. It allows you to focus on your automatic swing, and helps eliminate doubts and the usually-fatal failure to commit to your shot.

So, can golf confidence come in a box? The powerful, yet simple and intuitive, new Golf Buddy GPS rangefinder units make a powerful case for most serious golfers answering a resounding,“Yes!”
